010Elizabeth Jean Campbell was born in Taft. CA on July 19, 1921. Her parents, John and Carolyn Campbell had come from Ohio and her father was working in the Taft Oil Fields for Standard Oil Company. When Elizabeth (Betty) was two years old they moved to Santa Ana, CA where her father continued to work for Standard Oil Co. At age five they moved to Tustin, CA along with her two year old sister, Janice. She went to Tustin schools through High School, followed by a year at Santa Ana Junior College.

Elizabeth was a very social person and took part in lots of activities and made many friends. In high school, Elizabeth served as editor-in-chief of her school newspaper. She was also a very good student and made the honor roll consistently. In fourth grade she first saw Millard Foster and admired him even though he was the class cut-up. They started dating during their sophomore year at Tustin High School and were married on October 20, 1940 at the Santa Ana Presbyterian Church where she was a member.

momWorld War II started in December 1941 and their first child, Susanne, was born in April 1942, followed by a son, Kent, born in June 1943. The fall of 1943, Millard enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served until the war ended in 1945. Their youngest child, Joel was born in 1950. In 1956 they built a home in the hills of Orange County. Elizabeth worked many years as an accountant in Tustin and Santa Ana. She was also an avid seamstress and took great pleasure in sewing for the family. She even made her own wedding dress. In 1965 Millard and Elizabeth started buying property in the Woodlake area and spent most week-ends working on these properties. In 1974 they retired and eventually ended up with over 100 acres producing mainly oranges and olives. Elizabeth and Millard also shared a love for horses and raised, trained, showed and bred Palomino and quarter horses.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George Millard Foster Jr. (2009) and grandson Bill Foster (2011).

Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors are Susanne McAninch, Kent and Susan Foster, and Joel and Carol Foster. Grandchildren are Scott Branscom, Shannon Shipley, Joel Foster Jr., Michelle Miles, and Mark Foster. Great grandchildren are Derrik Ward, Mason Miles, Avery Elsberry, Marissa and Andrew Branscom, Emily Scott and Jonathan Foster.
